New website launched that will provide access to hundreds of thousands of restaurant menus online.

Tempe, AZ (PRWEB) August 29, 2007 – Mountain Internet of Tempe Arizona is pleased to announce the launch of the latest web development project they have created, Menu Elephant. “The site you will never forget”. Menu Elephant is a comprehensive directory of restaurants in the United States, with online menus and dynamic location mapping features. At the time of launch the site featured over half a million listings of restaurants, delis, sandwich shops, etc.

What makes Menu Elephant unique is that the site allows restaurant patrons and owners alike to submit menus of their favorite eating establishment. The site is easy to search, easy to navigate and makes it easy to find a restaurants menu and its location due to the integration of Google Maps technology. The site also employs a unique “build your own banner” function for businesses wishing to advertise on the site.

In July of 2007, Mountain Internet was awarded a contract to develop the comprehensive restaurant directory by Jeffrey Hauser, owner of The Nurses Choice. Mr. Hauser has over 30 years experience in tradition media marketing and has also published a well received book on Yellow Page marketing techniques. “We chose Mountain Internet for this project due to the fact that they had completed work for us previously and we were very satisfied. They are easy to work with and communicate well. The entire process was smooth and there were no surprises.” said Mr. Hauser.

The site utilizes the new Google Maps API Version 2.0 which facilitates visual mapping and direction finding for any listing without having to employ a third party geocoding application. Geocoding is a method of gathering physical street address data using longitude / latitude coordinates. Randall Taylor, President of Mountain Internet stated “We were very excited to have the opportunity to work with the latest Google Maps API. It allows us as a web development firm to provide online services that were only dreamed of several years ago”.

Menu Elephant expects to expand into international markets in the near future and estimates that it will provide access to well over 1 million listing and menus online. Other site enhancements that will provide increased value to the sites users and advertisers are also on the table for future implementation.
